With great pleasure several months ago, Mr. Al Ebo w/EBO PROMOTIONS and I accepted a special invitation from Ms. Danita Gains to travel to Memphis to attend The Unique Steppers of Memphis lead Steppin’ instructor Mr. Kenneth Madden, birthday celebration which took place on June 13th, at Memphis 2nd Saturday Day Steppers Set hosted by, The Smooth Steppers of Memphis with DJ John Grice in the box.

Mr. Ebo and I, both had an amazing time with this group of Steppers, and I was highly impressed by the large number of out-of-town support they received from around this country from different Steppin’ organizations. Their Set was top-notch; they had a FATHER’S DAY all-you-can-eat seafood Cajun style buffet with multiple birthday parties going on around the room, and they also took the time to acknowledge and give gifts to all the fathers for Father’s Day at their set. Furthermore, I only have one friendly suggestion for all the wonderful folks Steppin’ in the state of Tennessee. When time allows, please pick-up your state and move it closer to Texas so that I can visit more often.

Much love and respect to, Ms. Danita Gaines for helping with all of our arrangements, and making our visit to Memphis very pleasant!

The Unique Steppers of Memphis

Greetings!

Our first stop in Memphis was at Mr. Kenneth Madden’s Saturday morning Steppin’ class at the McFarland Community Center, where I had the opportunity to take part in his Steppin’ class. I truly enjoyed his class, and it was very informative!

This outstanding Steppin’ instructor takes his classroom curriculum very seriously. He walked us through the BEATS, COUNTS, STEPS and with a pen and pad in hand, he gave a great lecture on how to develop a strong Steppin’ foundation that would give us both the desire and the ability to Step/Dance with anyone we choose to do so with.
